Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in California. Across California, 788 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 11 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

We had the most excellent time working with Coastaide Clean Energy. They helped answer a plethora of questions, design a system that worked for our needs, and submit the most reasonable quote. They worked with our roofer, and began a whole month early. The installation did take some time due to the size and complexity, but we were informed of what's happening along the way. Now we are producing 60ish kWh a day with our tiny roof and charging both of our EVs with limited reliance in PG&E. Our system is about 14ish kW with two powerwalls and two expansion packs. We can charge two EVs, run the dr

I had Coastside install 11.5 kW of solar and 2 Tesla Powerwall 3s at my home in October 2025. I got quotes from about 15 companies, including Tesla. I went with Coastside because their communication was prompt and precise, they were never pushy in the process, and their pricing was reasonable. Most of the other companies just felt totally sleasy or were clearly over-priced in comparison. I asked so many questions during the design phase and they were incredibly patient answering them all and tweaking the design accordingly. They installed the system over the course of four days, and they were

We had a fantastic experience with the team at Coastside. They guided us through the whole process, answering our many questions, and providing prompt responses to everything that came up along the way. It was a joy working with everyone that supported our installation, and it was a smooth experience from start to finish. We are so happy to recommend the Coastside to anyone considering solar!

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Licensed

“accurate, all inclusive. 100% LICENSED AND INSURED Peace of mind,…”

Its website also mentions warranty, free estimate, insured and licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on LinkedIn. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
