Its one and two star share is 20 points above the typical installer in Oregon. Across Oregon, 12 of the 106 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 19 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Called to expand my system and install battery storage that the previous solar company didn't finish before bankrupting. Ecosolar refused to work on it since the original system wasnt their brand. Not very helpful at all. They arent interested in helping families in the community, just making big solar system sales.

I was driving down hwy 140 today going the speed limit, and this van came out of nowhere behind me, and continued tailgating me EXTREMELY CLOSE until the passing zone. I was not going below the speed limit. I pulled off to the side and they sped by, when I say sped, I mean they were definitely breaking the speed limit. Extremely unsafe driver. I personally would not hire a company who has employees that operate with such inadequate safety measures when it comes to simply going to or from a job. They passed the car in front of us as well, in a completely unsafe manner.

I used Eco Solar for my house solar project. I am about a year into it and I’ve been extremely pleased. Starting out I got three bids and clearly something was up with prices ranging over $15k in difference. I asked all three companies some direct questions. 1. Never returned my call, 2nd compared it to buying a used car and said there is always hidden fees and then there was Eco Solar. Not only did they answer all my questions openly and honestly. They explained things to help me understand the overall market of solar and how a company could approach the market. I was very impressed that they

Eco Solar worked with me to secure a Small Business grant and completed the project to a high level. The service and professionalism was above expectations.

EcoSolar did a great job installing our solar system on our new construction home. We are very satisfied with the product and their customer service was excellent!

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Family owned

    “products. Family-Owned and Operated since 2007 …”
  • Licensed

“of its installations and as a fully-licensed solar and electrical contractor in…”

Its website also mentions financing and established, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
