Its one and two star share is 20 points above the typical installer in Oregon. Across Oregon, 13 of the 106 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 29 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

What reviewers said

The ION Solar representative twice ignored the large No Soliciting sign and rang the doorbell directly underneath. When I did answer the door he proceeded to use aggressive sales techniques despite my repeated insistence that I was not interested. While I'm a huge proponent of green energy, ION Solar won't earn my business.

Please respect the no soliciting signs. Especially the one that explicitly states I'm not interested in purchasing solar.

Aggressive door to door sales that claim to not be solicitation. A very clear no solicitation sign directly above the door bell was blatantly ignored. They reps are clearly coached to say they arent in sales before they start trying to sell …

After a longer wait than u thought it was explained well and they did what I asked. Great job! Thank you, Bryan.

Very helpful, kept us updated and informed re scheduling and what to expect. Able to make modification to correct for error by original planner

I have had a great experience working with Ion Solar. All of their staff are friendly, knowledgeable and communicative. They made the whole process easy and stress-free. Our sales rep was York and he did a great job checking in.

Reviewer names are not published here. Negative reviews are shown first because they are the ones a listing hides, not because they are more representative.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“utility rates, rate increases, and financing options. Savings estimated here assumes…”

Its website also mentions warranty, free estimate, established, better business bureau and licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on X, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
