Its one and two star share is 9 points above the typical installer in the Portland area. Across Oregon, 23 of the 106 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 27 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Portland area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Purelight Power is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

This company no longer exists. After some digging online, I found that Infinity Solar bought remaining assets of Purelight at auction. I called Infinity (in Portland, OR) to see how they are handling Solgen/Purelight customer accounts and was told customers are being prioritized based on the bankruptcy court decisions. I’m guessing since my system is installed, running fine and paid off, I’m not a high priority customer. I only need maintenance and uninstall/reinstall when our roof is replaced. If you have a pending install or have already paid, but haven’t received goods/services, it’s probab

Screw this company and the horse they rode out of town on... You read that right, purelight went bankrupt 12/25. So if you have their equipment and are financing through goodleap start doing some deep deep deep research. I hope everyone …

UPDATE: This company and their fine employees worked hard to install as many solar panel systems as they could while the federal tax credits were available. Come the new year, they pulled the plug on the business (and likely their fantastic employees) as well as orphaning all of their newly installed systems. Got a postcard from A&R Solar, offering service and battery repair. They seem well respected. I’ll call them if I need help. END. I inherited a house with solar panels in Hawaii which seemed a given. All sun, few clouds, they should be perfect, yes? But the company that installed and care

Our experience with Purelught Power has been top notch, from sales to installation to customer service to app training with Jon. We are so happy we chose PP to install the panels and backup battery (which kept our power on during the last outage!). Looking forward to having our system help us out with our energy needs long into the future.

Excellent process, communication, a very positive experience. Will recommend Purelight Power Inc. for installing solar panels.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Instagram, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
