Its one and two star share is 8 points above the typical installer in the Charleston area. Across South Carolina, 34 of the 101 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 297 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

After installation, service is very poor. Equipment wasn’t working correctly, costing me money. After two months trying to get service, I was told they couldn’t help me at all and I would need to get someone to help. Zero stars. Not only am I paying the install loan, but since the system isn’t working correctly my energy is back up where it was before and I have to pay someone else to fix what they should have fixed.

My experience with EMPWR Solar is mixed. The onboarding and design of the solar system went swimmingly, presumably because they still hadn't been paid. However, once the system was installed, we experienced a monitoring issue. I don't doubt the system was working fine, but energy usage wasn't captured accurately in the monitoring app. The customer rep that was assigned to my account was unresponsive, and at times, flat out condescending. It's been a month since I escalated the issue and have received no meaningful follow up from the individual. This experience validates the research done when

We’ve never done business with this company. One of their reps came to our door and said we made an appointment to look over our energy bill. We already have solar with a different installer. These fraudulent tactics make me weary of ever working with them and a good amount of the negative reviews seem to have the same experience.

We have had horrible experience from the beginning of getting our solar panels installed in August 2020. They have horrible communication, we have had to get our roof fixed in March of 2023 and have had non stop issues with getting everything finished. We ended up having to get critter guard installed and it has been almost 2 months and I have not received a call back to get the rest of our supplies and to finish the installation process every person I talk to I tell them not to come here. Edited review: they have reached out to us and have had open communication and corrected all of the issue

My entire interaction, from the introduction by Yousef, my salesman, to the final notice of operation from Lou, one of the most professional, communicative, and thorough representatives I’ve ever worked with, every step of the way was handled with transparency, professionalism, and respect. The process did take a few months, like Yousef said it probably would, and we had a small administrative issue, which the installation team said may happen, but there were no surprises and the installation was correct the first time. Thanks again. If you live in Augusta, GA, this team is definitely recommen

All around good expieriance with EMPWR. They did my install. No major issues and the process took some time, but not bad. I had some issues with getting information for a rebate, and I finally reach Alana R, and she was amazing. She worked for days to get me the answers that I needed, and followed up. I coulnt ask for much more. Its hard to find good customer service these days, but she did an outstanding job.

I was honestly pretty against solar at first. I’d heard a lot of mixed things and assumed it just wasn’t worth it. Douglas, Des, and Mason took the time to answer all of my questions without pressuring me and explained how everything actually works. I even spoke with my realtor afterward, and they confirmed that a PPA made a lot of sense for my situation. By the end of it, I felt like I finally understood solar instead of just hearing sales pitches. I’m really glad I gave them a chance and would definitely recommend working with them.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on LinkedIn and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
