Its one and two star share is 5 points above the typical installer in Eugene. Across Oregon, 30 of the 106 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 44 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.
Every company we hold in Eugene, on one axis
Each mark is one company we hold in Eugene whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Energy Design is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

We hired Vince and Jeremiah to install our solar system. Almost a year after they were supposed to be done with the installation, our system still doesn't work correctly. Buyer beware. I will update this review if they ever get our system to work or when we receive resolution.

Our home required a fairly complicated analysis of options and Jeremiah Chavez was just fantastic to work with. He really worked hard and creatively but in the end had to recommend not proceeding because a project wouldn't make economic sense in our particular and somewhat unusual circumstances. I am rating Energy Design with five stars because the experience was really very positive and it is so important to work with someone who will give you honest information and work with your best interests in mind. I highly recommend contacting Energy Design If you are contemplating a solar project.

I spent a lot of time getting bids from rooftop solar providers, from regional, national, and local companies. Many of these companies promised a far larger system than my roof could accommodate, because they didn't send anyone to look at my actual house. Energy Design spent time carefully looking at my house, my roof, and the surrounding trees, and gave us a carefully crafted bid. Jeremiah ended up creating multiple plans to accommodate our various "what ifs." He was excellent at explaining what could and could not be done at our address, and why. He was clear about various state and federal

Energy Designs handled everything for my solar panels from design to installation to hooking me up with ways to check on how much power is being created. My electric bills have been cut in half. Getting solar panels on a roof in an historic district is complicated and takes many permits. They took charge of everything so I had no worries and they were always available for me to ask questions. I recommend Energy Designs to anyone thinking about solar panels.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
