Its one and two star share is 9 points above the typical installer in the Dallas area. Across Texas, 230 of the 728 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 488 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Dallas area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Freedom Power is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Update: The response said someone would be reaching out to discuss my particular situation a six weeks ago. I have not heard from anyone at this company since then to discuss this situation. BEWARE!!!! When we purchased our system from Freedom Solar, we were assured the process would be simple and that one of the biggest advantages of working with them was having everything handled under one roof — sales, service, support, warranty work, and ongoing system management. We were also strongly encouraged to go with SunPower because it was presented as one of the most reputable and stable companies

Stay away from this company and Dividend finance at all costs. Whatever you do. DO NOT purchase a solar system from these people. UPDATED 2/2026. First off to all those who have purchased between August and now my apologies. But I really wanted to see what this savings would be. Last year this time with NO SOLAR. Our bill was 288.00. This year with solar. 224.00 PLUS MY SOLAR PANEL BILL of 249.00. Folks. DO NOT make this mistake in thinking this will save you money. IT WILL NOT. Im on TXU $ for $ buyback as well. You will never recoup your money on the panels. And you will never get the effici

Three years after our $80,000 investment with Freedom Solar, we’ve run into serious issues: - The manufacturer of our solar panels is out of business. - Our Tesla Powerwall has been nonfunctional for two months. When I reported the Powerwall issue, the response I received was simply an email directing me to follow up with Tesla directly, along with a link to Tesla’s certified installers. I understand that both the panel manufacturer going out of business and Tesla’s Powerwall problems are beyond Freedom Solar’s control. However, customer service and appreciation for our business should not wav

I have not used them, but their contract is egregious, takes away all consumer rights and stacks the deck in their favor. They may have a great product and service, but if they did, they would not need to stack the deck in this way.

Freedom handled all the contacts with 3rd parties including HOA for approval and getting financing.

Shane made adding a battery to my system super easy. They work with you through the whole process, ensuring everything goes smoothly.

We just installed the Freedom Solar system and I could not be more happy with a company. Wonderful process from start to finish. I had previously installed a solar system when building my home ten years ago and it was terrible from the beginning so I very much appreciate the ability to quickly and easily communicate with Freedom Solar.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • EPA certified

“services in Austin and Houston. As EPA-certified professionals, we ensure every job is…”

  • 24/7 availability

“Pro-level purification working 24/7 so your air stays clean without you…”

  • Years in business

“solar panels in the U.S.A. for over 10 years, which meet or exceed all industry…”

  • Licensed

“our experienced, certified, and licensed technicians provide reliable and…”

Its website also mentions financing, warranty and free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on X, Facebook and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
