  Very disappointed with both SolarSME and the Generac solar/battery backup system in June of 2025. Since installation, the system has never functioned properly, and getting meaningful service has been extremely frustrating. I continue to get the runaround when trying to have someone come out and diagnose or repair the issue. For an investment of this size (50k), I expected a functioning system and much better follow-through after installation. Still waiting…..

  Disappointing Workmanship Warranty and Customer Service I am leaving this review to share my experience with their workmanship and warranty support. After three years of operation, my solar system stopped producing power due to a loose and frayed wire inside the disconnect breaker box. When the technician arrived, the fix was simple: they loosened the terminal, cut off the damaged copper, re-stripped the wire, and tightened it back down correctly. While the company did cover the physical repair, management claimed that this type of connection failure is "normal wear and tear" after three years

  I had reached out on the Solar Edge website to get batteries added into my solar system that I had for about 5 years (the original company went out of business). The sale team from SolarSME people reached out to me and were kind of pushy but the price was really good. Fast forward through the project I had to pay an additional $4k for a new electrical panel for the whole home backup to be able to function.   August 18, 2026. This is another positive update. Solar SME promptly fixed a glitch in my system on July 21. The solar panels and Grid Boss were not communicating properly. Solar SME fixed the problem remotely within one day of being notified. Everything has been working well for the month since then. I am revising my star rating to three stars from the original one star. Although system installation was long and difficult, support service since then has been good. January 7, 2026.   I got a great deal on Tesla power wall. The whole installation and service was on par. I'd definitely recommend Solar SME.

  After owning my solar panels for a few years, I received a message in the solar panel app that one of the panels was not producing energy. I called Solar SME to utilize the warranty that my panels came with. My dedicated warranty specialist was Umer. He verified there was an issue via system software on his end and he then promptly facilitated ordering the replacement part needed to fix the issue. I didn't have to pay for the replacement part - it was fully covered under the warranty. The part was FedEx'd to me and arrived within a few day.
