Its one and two star share is 12 points above the typical installer in Illinois. Across Illinois, 41 of the 183 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 7 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Green Tech Construction initiated my solar installation in June 2024, under Sun Power request. To the date, certificate of completion still pending on them, which is blocking me to use the solar panels on my roof. I understand there is issues between Sun Power and Green Tech, but I have nothing to do with that, all I need is my system up and running.

We recently had a solar system installed at our home in McHenry County, and after researching several companies, we ultimately chose GreenTech Construction. The deciding factor was the recommendation from friends who could not stop talking about the quality of work GreenTech had done on their own home. After seeing their installation firsthand and hearing about their experience, we felt confident moving forward. We had been considering solar for quite some time but were hesitant because we wanted to make sure we were working with a company that was knowledgeable, professional, and would stand

GreenTech Construction recently installed a 20 kW solar system with battery storage on our home in Lake County, and the experience was outstanding from beginning to end. Their team was professional, knowledgeable, and communicated with us every step of the way. The installation process was smooth, organized, and completed with a high level of quality and attention to detail. What impressed us most was the customer service. Anytime we had questions, the team responded quickly and made sure we fully understood the process, including how the battery backup system works and how it helps protect ou

What reviewers keep mentioning

  • system 4
  • customer care 2

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“we’d install on our own homes—with financing options that benefit you. One Team, Start to…”

Its website also mentions licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on LinkedIn. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. Morton Grove is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
