Its one and two star share is 17 points above the typical installer in Michigan. Across Michigan, 14 of the 84 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 5 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

What reviewers said

We just got a call from this company and we were very disappointed with the aggressive and borderline rude conversation style. We had reached out to another company that appears to be a subsidiary of this one and we were treated pretty poorly on the phone. From our brief experience with this company, I would not recommend starting a conversation with them.

Homeland was efficient and great to work with, from beginning to end. They also handled consumers energy and all their nonsense quite well. They made sure to get the job done and delivered on their promises. Thrilled to have switched to solar and have already recommended them to others.

They installed my solar system more than 10 years ago. The company and the many people that work there are knowledgeable about the system and the my questions about billing and replacing on component ( the inverter) was diagnosed and handled proficiently even after 10 years. This is a great installer!

Capable, competent and hard working. Customer service is obviously a priority too. Very ethical salespeople want your installation to meet your expectations.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp and the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
