Its one and two star share is 2 points below the typical installer in Texas. Across Texas, 399 of the 728 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 4 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

What reviewers said

Honest Solar take a very refreshing approach to Solar with honesty and transparency unlike most companies that will try to sell you the benefits while inflating the cost. The owners have many years of experience in residential and commercial solar and are well connected with Austin Energy to facilitate the permitting process. I can’t speak highly enough of them and I am very happy with my system. The energy independence and savings make it a no brainer for me.

Very professional, competent and punctual. They were able to get my solar system operational after the manufacture went out of business and declined warranty service. I highly recommend!!!

Been working with the guys at Honest Solar for a few weeks now and they are phenomenal. Working with John has been amazing - great communication, Transparent pricing and willing to go the extra mile to work with me and build the system to my needs.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Elsewhere

    • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. Bee Cave is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
