Its one and two star share is 11 points above the typical installer in Texas. Across Texas, 208 of the 728 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 20 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Beware of Icon Power’s sales practices. Icon Power salespeople gained entry to my home by convincing my 60-year-old disabled mother to let them in. They brought multiple reps and used high-pressure tactics to push us into signing a contract for solar panels financed through GoodLeap. We were promised: The panels would increase home value – they did not. They would be moveable to another property – they are not. They would dramatically reduce our electricity bill – in reality, our bills still average $300 per month on top of the loan payment. That the loan reflected the true system cost – the l

False advertising, break contract, and wanted to charge more and haven't even done anything. Just run their mouths but nothing done. This company is practically a joke. NEVER HIRE THEM. This is a scam and get fool by this fake company that gladly want to steal consumers money.

Just knocked on my door. Deceptive, aggressive. I asked for a business card, purpose of visit and indicated I was busy. Tried passing himself off as Centerpoint Infrastructure person. Tossed them off property and notified county sheriff's office, along with video.

ICON power was a pleasure to deal with from the beginning with Kurt K determining our needs and not overselling, to the installation crew, and through completion of approval from the utility. Everyone was professional and treated my home with the utmost care and answered every question I had. The end product was an extremely satisfied customer who is happy to recommend this Company to assist you with clean, affordable energy for at least 25 years to come, all while saving money ! Thanks again ;)

I used ICON Power when I first installed my solar array in 2019, while participating with a co-op created by Solar United Neighbors. I was impressed with their services and attention to detail, so I decided to use them again while expanding my array. This company is professional and efficient throughout the entire process, handling any questions quickly and managing all details from application to city permits to my utility provider. I highly recommend them!

Our experience with Icon went very smoothly and they always followed through. Once the system was installed we've had ZERO issues. I'm very glad we picked them!

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“Costs: Icon Power offers flexible financing options that require no initial investment,…”

  • Warranty

“and transparent solar provider. They warranty their installation, the system and do…”

  • Established

“We’ve been installing solar since 2017 and we’re fully vertical —…”

Its website also mentions free estimate and licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on ConsumerAffairs. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
