Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in Montana. Across Montana, 12 of the 36 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 46 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in Montana whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Intelligent Controls is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

I can't say enough good things about Intelligent Controls in Missoula. I was out camping when one of my solar MC4 connectors got crushed, leaving me without power. I brought them the wires, and they got everything repaired and back together the very same day. Their willingness to help on such short notice absolutely saved my trip. The repair was done quickly, professionally, and they treated me like my problem actually mattered. It's rare to find that kind of customer service these days. If you need electrical or solar wiring work done, I highly recommend Intelligent Controls. They truly went

Started up my solar system in Sept. ‘25 and added Pylontech US 5000 batteries in March ‘26. Purchased all major equipment from IC Montana and got excellent advice (from Reid) throughout design and construction. The system has been 100% problem free. It now runs all essential equipment year round (freezer, lights, refrigerator) with Hot Spot DC powered mini split air conditioners added last summer. Support from IC Montana has been great throughout. Pylontech batteries, matched with Victron charge controllers, Inverter, Cerbo GX and ancillaries - excellent! Electrical Codes in NY were challengin

I’ve had an off grid cabin for 25 years. Until the last three years we were on lead acid batteries. Intelligent controls out of Axmen in Missoula gave me excellent recommendations, priced me a system that was very affordable and recommended an installer, David Beers (Dirt Road Solar). The installation was flawless. , the equipment has been flawless and no maintenance. Should’ve done this years ago, and I can’t give them enough credit for all their help. This is good stuff.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions warranty, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
