Its one and two star share is 2 points below the typical installer in Rhode Island. Across Rhode Island, 20 of the 33 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 25 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Ordered by the share of one and two star reviews, weighted by how many reviews stand behind it. It ranks review records, not workmanship.

Every company we hold in Rhode Island, on one axis

0% rated 1–2★100%

Each mark is one company we hold in Rhode Island whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Neighborhood Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

What reviewers said

  • 5★ · around December 2025 · the company replied

I talked to a lot of solar people and I had reservations, but I did business with Spencer Gradley and my results have been nothing short of amazing. This is a first class operation from start to finish and have produced results that far exceed my expectations from start to finish.

We are 5 months in and so far so good. Spencer is easy to work with throughout the process, is responsive to our questions, and alleviates any concerns.

  • 5★ · around August 2025

Spencer was working in the neighborhood, and stopped by for a consult. He was super knowledgeable about solar, and the install company. He was very professional, and a pleasure to work with. Our panels are up and running, and we have no electric bill, which is awesome!!!!!!

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
