Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in California. Across California, 788 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 22 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I spoke to Ryan on the phone. He helped me figure out the my solor app is down but the inverter is still producing electricity from the panels. He told me how to fix it over the phone. Thank you for your help.

I’ve known Jeff, the owner of Original Energy, for about 15 years and have worked with him on many electrical projects over that time. In our area, it’s hard to find someone as knowledgeable, reliable, and trustworthy as Jeff. His work has consistently been excellent, and he always goes the extra mile to make sure project timelines are met and all the details are handled properly. He’s also great at thinking through solutions and often brings helpful ideas to the table, especially when it comes to lighting design or build planning. If you’re considering working with him, don’t hesitate to ask

If you're looking for a top-notch solar and electrical contractor, Jeff is your guy! He recently installed an off-grid home system for me, and I couldn't be happier. From start to finish, he was not only professional but also super friendly, making the whole process feel seamless.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“Whether it’s finding the best financing options, ensuring your roof is solar-ready,…”

  • Warranty

“our lifetime support and workmanship warranty. Not fully convinced about solar…”

  • Years in business

“future. Why Choose Us? With over 22 years in business, the team at Original…”

Its website also mentions family owned, established, bonded, insured and licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
