Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in California. Across California, 788 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 5 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I worked with Dean to get a quote for a solar panel system on my roof in Santa Barbara. He was not pushy at all and I felt he truly had my best interest at heart. I didn't end up going through with it because my roof is too old but I felt compelled to leave these guys a good review because they spent so much time with me

We highly recommend Pacific Electric Solar for their professional and knowledgeable team and high quality of workmanship. Pacific Electric Solar has worked on multiple high end residential properties for us over the last 5 years. Some of the projects they've completed flawlessly were installing a new electrical panel with updated EM panel mapping, installing a Generac generator, installing an extensive Tesla power wall system, updating a Tesla charging station, installing security cameras/lighting, rerouting electrical in conjunction with fiber optic internet, updating transformers, installing

James and staff are excellent to do business with. A very honest and dedicated group. They stand behind their work 110 %. Very good pricing and always there when you need them. They completely overhauled my original solar system which was installed by another company. I wish we had used them in the beginning. We need to support local companies like Pacific Solar and not the big corporate chains . Thanks Pacific Solar !

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Years in business

“and commercial properties for over 16 years, installing solar systems that exceed…”

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Facebook and LinkedIn. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
