Its one and two star share is 2 points above the typical installer in the Toms River area. Across New Jersey, 102 of the 237 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 59 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Toms River area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Reliable Power & Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

SOLAR PANELS ARE FOR STUPID PEOPLE. YOU PAY $50000. THEY ARE NO GOOD AFTER 12 YEARS. IN ORDER TO GET A 100% OUT OF THEM, YOU HAVE TO CONSTANTLY CLEAN THEM. BIG DEAL, YOU HAVE NO PICO BILL. BUT YOU'RE PAYING EIGHT HUNDRED DOLLARS A MONTH FOR WHAT THROW

Tech turned off generator to fo work but forgot to turn it back on. Imagine if we lost power! No generator in the pitch dark. In winter frozen pipes. Not good just can't happen.

Great experience from the initial meeting to the completed installation. The sales rep, Henry, was very professional and most helpful explaining the options and process. The crew were on time, professional, and cleaned up entirely. We would absolutely recommend this outfit!

So the other reviews have talked about the good customer service and the quality of the work, which I will reinforce. However, it is also very important to note that this is the only solar company I was able to find within a pretty wide radius of Freehold that had the technical understanding to pull off a non-standard job. I wanted solar hooked up to my own inverter with batteries, NOT to the grid like every other installation, and no solar company was willing or capable of undertaking this task. Chris at RPS immediately understood what I wanted and we collaborated on the design. RPS got the p

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“systems that might be out of warranty with the original installer. Critter…”
  • Years in business

“service, repairs, and maintenance. More Than 10 Years in Business We have been in the solar…”
  • Licensed

“Reliable Power & Solar is a licensed electrical contractor based in…”

Its website also mentions financing, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
