Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in the Springfield area. Across Illinois, 67 of the 183 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 82 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Springfield area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Route 66 Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

What reviewers said

  • 1★ · around June 2026 · the company replied

Said they would make an appointment for a site survey. Sent a worker with no advance notice. Behaved like a spoiled child when that worker was turned away. Refused to take accountability. When pressed on installation details, refused to answer specific questions. Solar is a big decision. They were not up to the task. Wish I did not have to see their tacky TV ads.

Avoid this company at all costs. We were honestly incredible appreciative of Scott and his team from the beginning. He was communicative, clear, and not pushy. The second our system was installed, it quickly went down hill. The installers left one day and we had no instructions, no information, no guidance on next steps. Alarmingly, they also don’t have evening tech support. So if your power goes out in the middle of the night after an install, guess what? You’re stuck without power! We had to literally google how to put our system in bypass mode and do it ourselves in the middle of the night.

After $40k and 2 years I tried to.pay more for extra panels and some replacements... route 66 made an appointment for the install.... then never showed up. Meanwhile if I use electricity in my home; I get a bill. Attached are some of the texts between myself and the owner.

Team did a great job. Answered all my questions and continued to update me as needed. They all worked really hard and I appreciate all the work they did.

Amazing company. Great communication. They were quick to answer any questions or concerns I had. Very patient and were completely understanding when I had issues getting reimbursement from insurance. I would definitely work with ith them again.

We had 3 guys for the install. They would let you know when they arrived and were leaving for the day which I really appreciated. They explained the process to me as I asked questions. They are very particular with attention to detail on the install and made sure the job site (aka my yard & home) was clean afterwards. We would recommend these guys for your solar installation needs. Great work ethic and customer service.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
