Its one and two star share is 5 points above the typical installer in the Salt Lake City area. Across Utah, 70 of the 167 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 626 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

We have had one issue after another with Smart Wave. - An installer fell through our ceiling (partially; he crashed through the ceiling in such a way that he was straddling a cross beam); - No one from the company EVER made an effort to clean up the mess from the drywall that went EVERYWHERE, despite the fact that there were **THREE** other guys on site - and the fact that the guy who DID step through the ceiling didn't stop working *at all* because it was only a minor abrasion; - We asked that that installer not be allowed back on our project after that day, but Smart Wave claimed that they d

Not Good. Wanted to pay up front for everything and be done. They couldn't figure out how to do that. After 100 calls, texts, and e-mails from incompetent people, I pulled the plug. Using someone else.

We had a pretty solid experience with the salesman and install, but sadly the moment we needed a repair due to faulty equipment (less than 1 year old), they have been less than helpful. It has taken them over 2 months to send someone to repair (still hasn't happened yet, though it is scheduled). This means we've gone most of the Summer without our solar panels functioning properly. Sadly I can't recommend this company based on this poor customer service experience.

Installation looks good and working as expected. They kept the schedule on track and updated me frequently. One thing that I am really not happy with is that during the initial discussions, they never mentioned that consumption meters were extra. Only after all the work was completed and when I am trying to evaluate how much is produced vs how much is being consumed, they clarified and say it is going to cost extra to add that now.

Joel and his crew did an excellent job. They were polite and very skilled in their individual endeavors. Joel took the time to explain what was going to happen and what was being installed. The two other installers got to work and staged the tools and parts and then got to work on the roof. Highly recommend and approve of Smart Solar for a job well done. Thank you very much.

We just finished installing a solar power sysytem with aTesla power wall and 2 Tesla car chargers with Smart Wave Solar in Utah. We had a very good experience with them. I first spoke with Steve Michels about the possibility of this install and he explained everything very clearly and intelligently. He was also always available through the entire process to answer any further questions I had. When the install was started i was assigned Juliet Tuineau to over see the entire project. She made sure that everything was going smoothly all along the way. She would coordinate with other departments s

Joel’s team of panel installers did a wonderful job. They worked hard all day ( 9 am until 8:30 pm) under record setting high temperatures and completed the job including a thorough clean up. Highly recommended.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
