Its one and two star share is 8 points above the typical installer in the New Orleans area. Across Louisiana, 15 of the 47 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 128 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the New Orleans area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. South Coast Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Do not use Sun Coast Solar they are not reputable and use substandard subs. Just two years in and we are having constant struggles and frustrations. Find another company.

South Coast Solar just provided me an estimate to change a single optimizer (which go out routinely across 16 panesl) $578.00. This single panel generates during a peak month $5.00 of energy savings. Apparently they charge every customer a mileage and driver time as if they were making a single dead head trip to your residence and not pairing your work with others in the area. This is a complete scam and price gouging to double and triple charge mileage and driver time for work in the same area. The only semi-viable option is to wait a few more months for more to go down and have multiple ones

Updating my review from 4 stars to 2 stars, and finally writing everything. Their estimate for solar panels was comparable to other companies, and their office people were fairly responsive and easy to work with. The whole process took awhile because of supply issues, which is fine. Install took 2 days for electrical, 1 day for panels. I had 1 leak initially, which they fixed, and then we had a drought. So it was many months before it was discovered the panel rail bases and flashing were installed incorrectly, causing leaks all over that side of the house. They responded and supposedly fixed e

I cannot say enough positive things about South Coast Solar. First and foremost, they were very patient assisting me with selecting my system. No sales badgering. No rushed decisions. The product options they offered were first rate and broad range. They not only put great thought into providing me with an incredible and fun-to-use system, but took great care and effort to make it architecturally pleasing to the eye. The service they provided was not only top shelf prior to and during installation, they have continued to monitor my system and offer and make improvements well after my last paym

These guys know what they are doing. They were listed on Cleco's website for solar contractors. SCS met all expectations (and hopes) for my non-typical setup (two central AC/heating units, pool, hot tub, barn, convert tennis court into ground mount system). I chose them mainly because they had industrial experience and offices in two widely separated states (therefore not a guy and his brother working from their mom's garage). These two factors indicated they were genuine professionals with real world experiences and the in-house electrical engineering needed to "do things correctly" rather th

Great experience with South Coast Solar. They installed solar panels and battery power wall at our home. Throughout the entire process, from initial consultation to installation to turning the system on, South Coast Solar has been open, honest, and professional. Rebekah met with us initially, met with us again to explain the proposal, and was the point person throughout the installation. Our solar panels have worked as anticipated, driving down our electrical costs significantly, and the power wall has worked perfectly during power outages. The app that came with the system keeps us informed r

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“aesthetics in mind. LEAK PROOF Our guaranteed leak-proof flashing system protects…”

Its website also mentions free estimate, years in business and licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

  • It posts on Instagram, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
