Its one and two star share is 39 points above the typical installer in South Carolina. Across South Carolina, 6 of the 101 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 5 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I wish zero stars was an option. This is by far, leaps and bounds, THE worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. We have been begging them to get our billing straight since before moved into our new home. We are going on 8 months and NOW we have received an email from the collections department for $7.50 because we will not let them draft our account, even though we were given a "courtesy credit" without being "penalized" for our inconvenience. We had a statement CREDIT of $15 and they still charged a fee for not being enrolled in automatic billing. How is that possible wh

This company has given us lies from day one. They said they could tell if our system was not working properly. That’s a lie cause we had a bad hail storm back in May and had someone look at our roof the other day and the solar panels are cracked and all beaten up but have not heard a thing from sun run. Our sun run bill was the usual $123 monthly bill and the Duke Energy bill was $73. We were told be would only have to pay for the grid with duke which is around $12. We’ve only paid that 1 time this year the rest of the time the Duke Bill has been a lot higher. Since we are leasing the panels t

Having issues getting them out in a timely manner to remove panels so I can get my roof replaced due to a leak. Leak didnt start until after install but the technician stated it wasnt panels. Had roofer come out and could not confirm so we had insurance come out for claim. Also was told my power bill would be significantly lower but pretty much paying 2 power bills. Called and they stated I was just using more power. Our habits havent changed since before install. Seriously regretting getting panels.

I have had a great experience with my solar panels. The guy who helped me was Mr. Camarena, and he was able to explain everything and answer all my questions. We have saved money on our energy costs and it feels great to get away from the traditional utility company. I have called customer service with many questions and have not had a bad experience like others are describing. I think it is important to find the right person to talk to before you get the solar panels on your roof.

We've had our panels for three years and are happy with the performance. The salesman who enrolled us in the lease program was honest and straightforward. The installation process was painless. I've recommended Sunrun to several friends who signed up and all have been happy. It feels like a "no brainer" way to do right by the planet.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“products and services, including financing options. When you apply for the Service, we…”
  • 24/7 availability

“full service for life with 24/7 monitoring Sunrun Subscription Plan…”

Its website also mentions warranty, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp and ConsumerAffairs. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Pinterest, X, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
