Its one and two star share is 13 points above the typical installer in Austin. Across Texas, 177 of the 728 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 13 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in Austin whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Texas Solar Power Company is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Just over 2 years ago I Got solar panels from this company a few years ago. Their 3rd party Vendor PV South Texas offered the solar panels and other services, like foam insulation, generator hook up to breaker, tree trimming, and A/C duct repair. Vendor never did the extra services that were added to the loan. Called them a few times about the generator hook up when it was being installed they said they had no record of it or any other service offered. After calling multiple times and and talking to the vendor through text he said Texas Solar kept his part of the payment and couldn’t do the wo

Truthfully I don’t even want to give a 1 star they were very respectful on the prices and assisting me with all my questions. I have told them multiple times I do not need solar panels, yes I sign papers but deposits have not been made nor any work now they want to charge me 5,000$ to just cancel mind you no work have been done or installed nor have I made any payments/deposits

This is our second solar install. Our first was in FL with a terrible installer (EHS). My husband and I found Texas Solar to be extremely communicative. While we did run in to some delays because we are in a new territory for TX Solar, they took necessary steps remedy everything to our liking. We think this is critically important for prospective new customers to consider as it was not the case with EHS and the myriad of issues we had with them.

Good job installing years ago. Mediocre after support.

What reviewers keep mentioning

  • payments 2
  • pricing 2

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“team maintains a list of recommended financing options for solar in your area, which might…”

Its website also mentions years in business, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on LinkedIn, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
