Longhorn Solar - Austin

Each mark is one company we hold in the Austin area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Longhorn Solar - Austin is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

I bought 12KW solar panels from Longhorn 2.5 years ago, installation was ok. Since that time I have had 2 warranty issues, first was an inverter that went bad, it took almost 6 months of me asking them every week to fix the issue. Second happened almost 13 weeks ago, not sure what is and they won’t respond. I would not use them again

Clean install, however the day you need service, good luck. Phone calls and emails will go unanswered. I've in my spare time had to troubleshoot and deal with vendors that all wondered why I was calling and not the installer/service team.

My system's totally down and not making any power. I contacted them in April, but after a few emails, they just vanished. I've been with this company since 2014, they installed my solar systems in 2014 and 2019. Now they're gone, their website's gone. No more tech support from them. So, I'm stuck and have no clue how to fix this. They just abandoned their loyal customers without a word.

I got my panels put on in 2023. 2 of them are not working today, and I can’t seem to contact them. I’ve called the company a few times and no call back. I even went to the physical address, and the doors are locked. I just need to contact the company. Now, I just had a text and a phone call from a Top Tier Solar Panel company that said that they work for Longhorn Solar. I’m still hesitant, but they are coming tomorrow to check out my panels. Not sure if Longhorn Solar has sent them or if it’s a scam. More info to come later.

Update: First and foremost, they did a great job on the install initially and my system worked great for the first 4 years or so. Then an inverter failed on 4/16 (I have two separate systems installed, and they did an excellent job on both systems and the powerwall 3 too). Now the not so good part, one inverter failed (the one that is oldest) on 4/16, but I didn't catch it until later on 4/24/2026. So I called and left a few messages and sent an email, but I never got a response from anyone. After not hearing back I called a few more times on 4/27 and got in touch with their service department

The longhorn solar service department was very professional and solved my problem. Thanks

The very knowledgeable and skilled technician saw that the Powerwall/gateway issue was resolved efficiently.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

• Established

“0 Solar power systems installed since 2009 0 $ Dollars In customer savings 0…”

Its website also mentions financing, warranty and free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

• It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
• It posts on Instagram, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

• —The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
• —We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
• —We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
