Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in the Grand Rapids area. Across Michigan, 41 of the 84 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 67 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Every company we hold in the Grand Rapids area, on one axis

0% rated 1–2★65%

Each mark is one company we hold in the Grand Rapids area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Tiger Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Welcome to the solar mafia. I called them to get a battery installed and they said they could do it and even gave an upper range which fit my budget. I spoke with Dave. I was ready to hand them a check that day. Then, I had the not so pleasure of speaking with Chad, who has to approve every job. He only wanted to do the job if I installed solar. But I just wanted the battery for backup. After calling a number of solar companies, who are the only Tesla certified installers in the area, I see now, at least for the companies I talked with, they are only interested in installing $40K+ solar arrays

I had Tiger Solar do some warranty work from another installer that went out of business. They came in to inspect at fair cost to assure the system was up to code and no design or previous craftsmanship ship concerns. They gave detailed reports and made some revisions where needed . They didn’t come in to do work alone but solve the problem. Super nice and trustworthy people to deal with. I honestly wish I had them do original installation as they are committed company not going anywhere with their excellent service. Really pleased we have them now and going forward. I highly recommend them.

Very good service. Competitive pricing. Recommend. These are in progress pics, they did close up the wall etc. I've had 2 grid outages since they installed enphase batteries and a span electrical panel. Both times the system worked flawlessly. The panel shed excess loads, the batteries kicked on, and everything just worked. I was even able to add back some loads via the span app.

Absolutely great experience with this company. They finally got my Generac system back up and running correctly after it had been improperly installed by Pink Energy. Their team came in, identified all the issues with the previous solar installation, and fixed everything the right way. They were professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to walk me through the entire process so I understood exactly what was being done. This is the first time my Generac has actually been functioning properly and reliably. Couldn’t be happier with the service — 10/10 recommend.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“repair costs are based on applicable warranty coverage, the price of replacement…”

Its website also mentions free estimate and established, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on ConsumerAffairs. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
