Its one and two star share is 21 points above the typical installer in Illinois. Across Illinois, 26 of the 183 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 13 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

What reviewers said

I worked with Tri-State through a subcontracted install company so that renewable energy credits could be sold through the Illinois Shines Program. After many emails, Tri-State did not follow through in submitting the SREC contracts to Illinois Shines. Because of this I have lost out on about $8,000 in rebates. This company has become unreliable and I would not do business with them. I rate them at zero stars. 100% do NOT recommend.

They never answer their phones. Customer service is horrible. Hopefully you never have an issue with your system or good luck getting them to help you.

Just finished installing 7.2 Kw solar and generac 10k generator....lots of work to hook up! They did an excellent job setting up, cleaning up, and getting system on line...Great folks to work with and talk to, learned lots about solar talking to them. Been here for a long time!

Very knowledgeable about complete process from start to finish. This includes planning, grant writing, down to the details of installation. Highly recommended.

They are very knowledgeable and helpful. They explained, constructed and maintained the solar panel system we purchased from them. Works great!

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

Google also lists this company under carpentry.
It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
