Its one and two star share is 2 points below the typical installer in North Carolina. Across North Carolina, 72 of the 130 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 6 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

What reviewers said

  • 5★ · around August 2022 · the company replied

Action Solar and Electric is one of the most professional and organized companies we have done work with, highly recommended!

Very pleased with the quality of workmanship and knowledge of the system. Would highly recommend.

Action Solar was recommended to us by our architect and now we know why. Julian is knowledgable (he's also an electrician) and personable. He gauged our system appropriately. No power bills so far! I highly recommend him to anyone wanting to-notch solar work on their home.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Years in business

“based in Chapel Hill, NC, with over 9 years experience in solar array design…”

  • Licensed

“throughout VT and NC. We are also a licensed electrical contracting company with…”

Its website also mentions bonded, insured and licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. Chapel Hill is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
