Its one and two star share is 3 points above the typical installer in Fort Myers. Across Florida, 251 of the 675 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 463 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

0% rated 1–2★25%

Each mark is one company we hold in Fort Myers whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Advance Solar & Spa is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

We spent thousands clearing trees so they could install the solar on the south side of the house. We were gone and they installed on the WEST side where there is limited sun. Then, they drilled through the roof so we had a leak that needed to be repaired. Advance argued and would not pay for the repair. Since the solar was incorrectly installed, it made barely a difference in the pool water temperature. I would never buy from these people. (Jan Greenberg)

On 8/19/20 I called Advance Solar about a leak jn the passive solar system they installed on my roof for my pool about 1.5 years ago. A PVC coupling was leaking water (not properly glued?) on my roof. The person I spoke to said that the panels themselves were warrantied for 12 years, but was not sure? about the pipe and that the only way to tell for sure was to send out a crew to look at it. After a week with no response I called again and was informed that they were sending someone out to look at it the next day. On that day a man showed up and said, "I'm here to fix your solar". I thought th

Dealing with Jose was fine. I met with three vendors and I thought everyone did a great presentation & proposal. As we know by now, I had asked during the initial meeting if you were familiar with the iAquaLink software. Jose said the guys were. Apparently there is a difference between the Pentair and the Jandy. I communicated back all the time with Jose, Jon, Teresa and Shawn. Then I was told by Randy, no one asked him. That would appear to be an internal problem as I was always communicating with your firm. When Jon reviewed the installation he found the sensor was on the Northwest and he mo

Advance Solar & Spa did a three Enphase Battery install on my existing array. Jeff and Luis did an outstanding job. No trash after each day, very respectful, and an overall excellent job. I highly recommend Advance Sol and Spa for all your solar needs.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions family owned, established, better business bureau, insured and licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Elsewhere

    • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
    • It posts on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
