Its one and two star share is 2 points below the typical installer in New York. Across New York, 139 of the 247 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 10 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

What reviewers said

  • 5★ · around April 2026 · the company replied

Jeff is positively first rate when it comes to customer service!

DIY Solar Assist is top notch. Very knowledgeable and professional. We did a large ground mount system. Our system has been operational for 5 months and we've already generated enough electricity to supply 6 months consumption! Jeff was a huge help with system design, engineered drawings, utility application, component procurement, installation guidance and solid advice along the way. If you are considering a DIY project, step #1 is to give Jeff a call!

My project was a 9.5 KW grid tie ground mount system .The only regret I have dealing with DIY is that I started my project on my own. Mistakes I made could have been avoided rather than have Jeff correct them. I am considering two more Solar projects and will have DIY involved before I have problems, not to clean them up. In my opinion you can’t go wrong having DIY on your team.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. Rome is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
