Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in the Danbury area. Across Connecticut, 53 of the 112 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 547 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Every company we hold in the Danbury area, on one axis
Each mark is one company we hold in the Danbury area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Earthlight Technologies is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

The new people that Earthlight has working their call center make this company very difficult to do business with. They test your patience telling you that they know more about your house and the shade it gets from a satellite image than you who lives there and the many other solar companies who've also surveyed your land with not only satellites but drones and such. If you live in an open field with zero and I mean zero tree coverage like a lot of the houses in Ellington then I could see yourself potentially having a different experience. My garage is the only part of my house with tree cover

Not reliable. It started perfectly and continued that way for a couple of weeks during the design of a large ground based array. Then the rep simply stopped interacting with us. The last email from him indicated he'd send us an updated quote, which I would have signed. I reached out for weeks. This has cost me thousands of dollars as the CT rebates are now expiring and I would have simply gone with someone else if he had said they didn't want the ($50,000) job. To make matters worse, he continues to have me on his contact list and occasionally emails me offers and suggestions. I again called a

Awful follow up and service. Scheduled a consult on two separate occasions. The first time, the technician called, after already running 20 minutes late, to cancel his consult because our shade report was poor. Finally contacted them again to attempt a second consultation- fully disclosed our prior history and were told over the phone that based on the last report if we were willing to discuss tree removal it would be worth the consultation. This is now particularly pertinent, since a large tree removal operation just took place across the street. We discussed our concerns about the technician

Earthlight provided an extremely positive experience in terms of adding battery back-up and additional solar panels to my solar system. All of their staff were pleasant, informative, reliable and efficient. I strongly recommend this company.

Exceeded my expectations! Greta at New England Energy Solutions (Part of the Earthlight Family) was great! I received electrical upgrades to the house and 11 trees taken down with zero cost to me. Everything was on time and easy. Highly recommend!

The whole process was very easy and straight forward. Everyone at Earthlight was very helpful and kept me up to date along the way. I am very happy I went with a local company.

Elsewhere
- It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
