Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in Dallas. Across Texas, 381 of the 728 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 81 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Every company we hold in Dallas, on one axis

0% rated 1–2★55%

Each mark is one company we hold in Dallas whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Electric Distribution and Design Systems is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

I already purchased on March 26, 2021 and have yet to receive my generator NOR get any updates from the salesman who sold me the unit. We are going on a year and lack of updates is very disappointing and has the feel of sale sale sale with no delivery or regards for the customer.

We had a standby generator installed by Thomas Edds from Electric Distribution and Design Systems, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Thomas was professional, explained everything clearly, and made sure the installation was done right. The generator works perfectly, and we feel much more prepared now. Highly recommend his services!

After finding out my Solar Company went out of business in 2024 and needing component inspections immediately due to system shutdown down. I reached out not only on a Sunday but a Holiday weekend and the owner called within 1 hour and was on site 48 hours later and resolved all issues in 2 hours. I will not use anyone but EDDS in the future. Thank you so much Tom in my day of panic to ensure me you would take care of my problems and you did 5 stars

I highly recommend Electric Distribution and Design Systems for solar installation in Dallas, TX! Edds Thomas, the owner, provided excellent service and expertise. The installation was smooth, and I’m already seeing a decrease in my energy bills. If you're looking for top-notch solar installation and reliable service, Edds and his team are the way to go!

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Family owned

“Your Future with Solar Excellence Our family-owned solar company has been a trusted name…”

  • Years in business

“top-rated solar companies. We have over 40 years of experience being Texas’ licensed…”

  • Insured

“experience being Texas’ licensed and insured solar power supplier. We strive to…”

  • Licensed

“40 years of experience being Texas’ licensed and insured solar power supplier. We…”

Its website also mentions 24/7 availability and established, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
