Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in Maryland. Across Maryland, 59 of the 111 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 10 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

We signed a contract in May 2025 for Energy Select to install solar panels on our house. To summarize briefly, the work done on-site by the supervisors and crews was very good, but communication between Energy Select and us throughout the project was insufficient, sporadic, and not always helpful. When we started the project, the completion date was estimated to be July – August 2025. The reality was that the solar panels were on the roof for “completed installation” on December 20, and we did not receive PTO until March 2026. I quite understand that the legislation abruptly ending the solar t

I did a lot of research about solar and when I decided it was right for me, I called different companies and I wasn’t thrilled with non of them till I reached out to Energy Select. From day 1 till finish, they were excellent on communication and transparency. I’m happy with my system and I’m forever grateful to this company. The install was great. They did a very clean job. They took the time to walk me through everything I needed to know. Going through their finance program was also very easy. I’m extremely happy I went with this company. Thank you Energy Select.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“expected energy savings, available financing options, and the installation timeline.”

Its website also mentions free estimate and insured, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
