Its one and two star share is 3 points above the typical installer in San Diego. Across California, 608 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 500 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.
Every company we hold in San Diego, on one axis
Each mark is one company we hold in San Diego whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. EnergyAid is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Horrible!!! Came 2 hours after arrival window. I had gotten an inspection and cleaning. The guy told me I would get an inspection report within 48-72 hours. One week later I still have nothing. I call and they tell me they can send one in 48-72 hours. I tell them I’ve already waited a week. Then they immediately send me a work quote for $6,500!! I had asked for a report. They said that customer service would contact me. I’ve heard from no one. Cannot get my money back. Why would I give them more money when I don’t even know if the work quote is correct because I DON’T HAVE A REPORT. The one th

Made an appt with them to come out in the afternoon when my solar was producing to try and figure out what was wrong with our system we had. The guy showed up at 8am ..at that point we should have told him to come another time but he proceeded to check it all out for about an hour charged us 300$ gave us a book of pics and said he would have to send a more experienced tech out. We contacted them several times afterwards and was ghosted! And now its worse found a unhooked and cracked panel since then. NOT HAPPY AT ALL

VERY overpriced with high labor rates. We were quoted about $2500 and signed a contract which seemed high but initially I thought we were replacing the entire string line which was mentioned on the phone, and possibly had to move panels which would have explained the higher labor and materials charges. However, since the job only took about 3.5 hours for two technicians, that works out to roughly $370 per hour in labor. The materials used were minimal, just a few nuts, which I estimate at around $10. And the problem was just basically some new nuts on the juction boxes (a VERY easy repair). I

Dylan was fine, the work request order was incorrect and I didn't get what I asked for. The company said that they would make it right and I will give them opportunity to do so.

I’m impressed, he arrived early, went to work on my roof, did the inspection found everything to be in good working in order. Suggested cleaning has birds make a mess under my solar panels.

What the company says about itself
Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.
Licensed
“EnergyAid provides qualified, licensed, and affordable solar repair services…”
Its website also mentions licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.
Elsewhere
- It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on X, Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
