Its one and two star share is 2 points above the typical installer in the San Diego area. Across California, 636 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 258 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

0% rated 1–2★20%

Each mark is one company we hold in the San Diego area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Solar Negotiators is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

I needed service because a panel was not producing. The service technician determined that the micro inverter was bad. Now you would think that being an original customer that they would know my system and show up with a new micro inverter in case it was the problem. But no, it would require another service call. Each service call was $375 for a total of $750. The technician let me know when he left after the first visit that he would order a micro inverter and be back when he received it (You would think that this would be a stocked item). But here is the real problem; they never kept me info

This company put solar panels and batteries on one of my houses. I spent over $35,000 on the project. Yet, my electric bills have only decreased by about 20%. This makes the break even point for the installation approximately a decade from now! I will say that their customer service in terms of responding to my complaints has been excellent. But they never should have put solar on this house and I had two companies prior to this one decline to put Solar here due to too much shade.

I never got my referral bonus. It’s been about 2 years now since I got my panels installed.

They are a good solar company! They do have excessive prices on there services. I have had the chance to compare them with other companies. There were occasions when I had to remind them that they forgot to clean my panels. But they have fixed problems I have had in the past.

We have had our solar for 2 yrs and we love our low electricity bill! We had one issue with our inverter and solar negotiators replaced it for free which is definitely part of our contract! We just got our backup battery installed and are having great success with the battery too! If we have any questions or problems they are always resolved!

Solar Negotiators is the best investment we ever made. The installation went perfect and they kept us updated during the whole process. Soon after we got a call that there was an issue with production in our system. They monitored it for a few days and then figured out the problem. Then sent out a technician to replace the part on the panel that was not working. Problem solved. Now the only time we see them is every six months they come for free and wash our panels and check them out. And then send us a report with pictures. Love this company. I would recommend them to everybody.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“that can take up to 6 months. What financing options do you offer, if any? All of our…”
  • Free estimate

“or concerns you may have. Request a Free Quote Please enable JavaScript in your…”
  • Insured

“Asked Questions Are you licensed and insured? Yes, we are licensed and insured.”

Its website also mentions warranty and licensed, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Angi, Thumbtack and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
