ETM Solar installed a 13kW solar system on our roof in 2018. We were very pleased with the overall experience. Installation went smoothly and they have reacted very quickly with any questions and concerns. Update 2023: ETM was sold, new owner does not honor the warranty that was contractually agreed.

We were so excited for Solar and the sales person sounded so enthusiastic and positive about it all getting started so we signed the contract to then find out that not everything on the contract was accurate and things the sales person told us we’re also inaccurate. So we were basically lied to multiple times. Very sad that we couldn’t trust them after that so we had to cancel everything. Very disappointed.

Beware that when you buy solar panels but are still connected to the NYSEG grid that NYSEG can charge you just for having the solar panels. There is currently a "Clean Energy Fund" charge which is not the delivery fee or service charge, which is just issued for customers with solar panels. NYSEG customer service has confirmed that this charge could go up at any time and that I am not receiving any NYSEG service for paying it. Rather, NYSEG is charging me for having the solar panels. ETM never told us that this could/would happen.

My wife and I hired ETM for a two part project to bring our old farmhouse into this century: the first part was installing a heat pump split system to replace our oil furnace; part two was installing a 36 panel solar system (sun and meteors not included) to power the property. Wendy was our point person for both projects, and has been consistently quick to respond to any questions we have had, thorough in her explanations, and very down to Earth with an easy going disposition. Wendy was patient to walk us through all of the financing options and details, explaining the current funding incentiv

Over the years I have had various crews doing jobs at my house. The ETM crews were such a pleasure to have around. Mike is stellar - always available if need be. Any of them would stop and answer questions. I'm very glad I choose this company to work with! The office also worked with me tirelessly dealing with electric company issues.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
