Its one and two star share is 11 points above the typical installer in the Long Beach area. Across California, 393 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 61 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

0% rated 1–2★25%

Each mark is one company we hold in the Long Beach area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Evolution Energy is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Highly disappointed. Had high hopes for this place after reading some of the prior reviews. However, I spoke with Bruce who proved to be non-responsive and lacked any sense of follow up. Not for me.

We purchased solar panels from this company and during the process we were missing a couple panels. It has been over 6 months and numerous attempts of communication with Sunny, and he has yet to install the panels. He got paid and did not follow through with his commitment. Also, during the installation, his crew damaged my interior walls. Would not recommend due to his lack of commitment to customer service. I am sure there are many companies out there that offer what this company offers. Do your research, so you don't end up like we did.

NOTE: this is an updated review. I have had the system installed for a few weeks now, and wanted to update my review. It’s true, Evolution energy dropped the ball on communication and follow-through a couple of times. I still think that. I also think, though, that I should have been prepared for a lengthy, months long project. A solar panel install is not as simple as many of the projects a home-owner might take on; it’s really like 3 projects in one. That means the company (Evolution Energy) is used to a rhythm where there are gaps in contact. For this industry, that’s normal (and really, usu

5 stars. I had a genuinely great experience with this team from start to finish. Their quote was very competitive, communication was transparent throughout, and the scope/deliverables were always clear. I especially appreciated that they never tried to oversell me or push unnecessary upgrades — they focused on what was agreed on for my project. They also handled the rebate/application process from the initial submission all the way through follow-up communications, which removed a lot of stress on my end. What stood out most, though, was how they handled delays and roadblocks from the utility

Evolution Energy did our solar panels and battery system. One advantage to working with this company is that they offer both Tesla and Enphase systems. We went with Enphase even though it was a bit more expensive. If we had a Cybertruck then Tesla all the way because of the bidirectional charging. The other advantage is that they are also a roofing company so it was all quite seamless. We were able to combine the install with replacement of the dormer vents with flat fire-resistant ones so now we are not as concerned with fire embers. Their work was impeccable throughout and the post install s

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“or business. We have a variety of financing options available for you to own (not rent)…”
  • Warranty

“legacy, offering a ten-year warranty on all our work and installing solar…”
  • Established

  • Licensed

“Evolution Energy is a California licensed and bonded electrical contractor…”

Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on ConsumerAffairs. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on X, LinkedIn and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
