Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in Long Beach. Across California, 788 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 112 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

So far, so good. Calls were answered by the same person each time, with personable professionalism. Tech came on time but the problem had solved itself.

We hired Solar Source to install solar panels, and bring us on-line in time to make the deadline for NEM 2.0 metering in California. The whole project was tied to an expansion being built onto our house. Despite the construction having its ups, downs and delays, Solar Source was always on top of everything. They handled all communications with Southern California Edison (SCE), as well as permits, inspections and approvals with the city. Emails were always answered promptly, and everything was handled in a very professional manner. The system is well laid out on our roof, a very clean install t

I had such a great experience working with Solar Source! From start to finish everything was positive. I really appreciated the good communication. Stephen did an excellent job explaining everything about the job. Even when there were some supply issues he was prompt and clear about the changes. I also appreciated the installers. I work from home and Alejandro was very conscientious of this when we had to turn the power off etc. I highly recommend Solar Source to anyone who is considering getting solar.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Family owned

“your family every step of the way. Family-Owned and Locally Rooted: We are a 100%…”
  • Licensed

“home and specific goals. CA Fully Licensed #925231: With licenses in all three…”

Its website also mentions financing, warranty, free estimate and licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Instagram, YouTube, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
