Its one and two star share is 2 points above the typical installer in Chicago. Across Illinois, 73 of the 183 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 60 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Love the solar. Paid for itself in less than 6 years. However, outdated hardware was installed that is no longer communicating with the app after less than 2 years. Edit: responding to reply. To come out they’re charging $250 or more.

Freeword Solar has proven to be completely unreliable. They make big promises about saving money, but it’s all misleading. Once you sign, you end up stuck with two bills — the solar finance payment and a power bill that’s just as high as, or even higher than, what you were paying before going solar. Their claims simply cannot be trusted.

Free World did an excellent job installing our solar panels! Their team was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient from start to finish. The installation was seamless, and they took the time to explain how everything works. Highly recommend them to anyone looking to invest in solar energy.

I was extremely pleased with my experience with FreeWorld Solar in Chicago. Everyone I interacted with on the sales team was very knowledgeable and efficient and didn't try and upsell me on electrical services I didn't need. I'd recommend them to anyone with solar or electrical needs.

Very happy with the home installation. Excellent service in Chicago. Quick and efficient, friendly team!

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
