Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in Pennsylvania. Across Pennsylvania, 72 of the 146 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 6 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I decided coming in this year that my electric bill was higher than I could afford so I invested in a generac as backup and solar power to power my home and bait and tackle shop. The process has taken over 3 months of technians and thousands of dollars and no success until Ground Hog Solar came to the site. Within 35 -40 minutes the problem found and the house was being powered by the sun and the counsel on improving the existing system to be more efficient for the house and bait shop was so valuable. The service provided was very professional and educational. I highly recommend Ground Hog Sol

We are fortunate to have this company take over the service of our solar system when the company we purchased through announced they were closing. We recently added additional panels and are very pleased. They are very efficient and the communication is excellent. Highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic job! Everyone is very knowledgeable. Huge shoutout to Richard, Travis, and the rest of the crew. They were able to get my system installed flawlessly, and for the most affordable price around. Would highly recommend!

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions warranty and free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Elsewhere

    • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
    • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
