Its one and two star share is 2 points below the typical installer in the Hilo area. Across Hawaii, 53 of the 87 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 5 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Hilo area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Hawaii Solar Connection is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

We had an A+ experience with Shawn and Hawaii Solar Connection. I was gonna order a system online and pay $1000+ for shipping and wait 14 days but Shawn was able to get me into a BETTER system that was IN STOCK ready to install at the same price. I was familiar using the other system I wanted to order but I like the one we got from Shawn way more! Shawn is attentive in answering all questions during and post installation. Shawn's knowledge and customer service inspires confidence that we made the right choice. Look no further Hawaii Solar Connection is who you need for all your solar needs!

Shawn kept me up to date with his schedule and his daily progress and was always available to answer my questions. Shawn is a master craftsman. Whether it’s handling his tools, the products, the installation and all the small details, Shawn exhibits knowledge and experience. All the products he installed, and his installation were high quality. The final product has a professional look that adds

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
