Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in San Francisco. Across California, 481 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 21 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Yes, the panels work. I think? I'm pretty sure. However, the installation process was a disorganized mess. Only to be followed by my finding that our solar generation and power usage had been wrong for 2 years so the app data was useless. They have yet to resolve it. Lots of promises around project management, service, etc but very little actual follow through. Extremely disappointing as we went with them bc they are a local company. The halo effect of "they're local!" only last so long - this is an extremely expensive system that needs to work reliably.

Luminalt came out to repair corroded wires that was impacting our getting power from our panels. Kayla helped to set up an appointment that was convenient and the team that came out to do the repairs were courteous, efficient and not disruptive. Since the repairs we have had days (days!) of 99% power from our solar! Thank you, Luminalt!

10/10 Luminalt was great to work with for installing solar panels on the pitched roof of our home and battery storage in our garage! From initial assessment, to planning, to installation, to app setup, they answered our myriads of questions and were never pushy - always super professional. We messaged several solar installers for quotes, and Luminalt was prompt in their reply, as well as honest, and very knowledgeable. They definitely stood out from the rest and for good reason. Highly recommend!

In January this year I discovered that my NEM2 application from three years ago was still active and Luminalt helped me install a 5kw solar system system (no battery) and get it approved ahead of the April deadline. The team is extremely knowledgeable, they have done hundreds of successful installs in SF and know the permitting process and the building department inspectors personally to get things done quickly. Many other solar installers aren't local and while some of them might be slightly cheaper, they don't have the know-how, local connections, and/or expertise to get things done in a tim

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
