Its one and two star share is 4 points below the typical installer in Boise. Across Idaho, 31 of the 50 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 20 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

0% rated 1–2★20%

Each mark is one company we hold in Boise whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Magic Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

What reviewers said

Magic solar inherited my account from another company that closed which meant they took over the guarantee. Matt was excellent from start to finish on a fix from a problem with the inverter. My system is almost 10 years old and is back to perfect functioning again. I highly recommend this company. Thank you.

Magic Solar was clear with the project with costs, timing, and execution of the project. The project was complicated. The only perceived delays were with permitting, which neither the company nor I had any control over. I would use Magic Solar again.

I had an issue with my inverter that needed attention beyond the instructions to reset the unit that the company that initially installed the system suggested. Joey & Giovanni at Magic Solar helped me figure out the issue and got my system back online in no time. They're professional, attentive to details, and made it all work. I'm thankful for their service and their professionalism.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Financing

“discuss your energy needs, discuss financing options, and provide you with a tailored…”

  • Warranty

“was covered and shipped under warranty. Thank you Magic Solar. Your amazing…”

  • Years in business

“give you an idea of your cost savings over 25 years. Simply enter a few key details about…”

Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on YouTube, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
