Its one and two star share is level with the typical installer in the Temecula area. Across California, 665 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 97 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the Temecula area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. New Day Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

There were a few issues with our project. The biggest issue is that we experienced a high level of miscommunication. We were told that there would be no work done to our breaker box when installing our batteries because they will use a transfer switch power control system (PCS) that limits backfeed to the main panel. But we desperately needed to upgrade our panel and felt we had no choice in the matter. So we paid an electrician to put in a subpanel a mere month before the project by New Day Solar started, where an electrician from the company did just that. Effectively wasting our money. Our

We had the best experience with New Day Solar! After realizing that my nearly 10 year-old inverter was not working, I contacted new day, solar. Michael performed diagnostics online and soon realized that my inverter was not providing feedback and had essentially died. Soon after they sent out a technician who discovered that the inverter had malfunctioned internally. They contacted the manufacturer and discovered that it was still under warranty. They handled all of the warranty work and came out once the new inverter was shipped. They installed the new inverter and everything is working fine.

Company communicated quickly, listened to my needs, took over a previous installer's work after they ceased to be in business. Then walked me through the warranty replacement process slowly and carefully, as a good company should. When the part arrived they installed in within 24 hours and even gave me a discount on the previously quoted fee. Very happy.

New Day Solar is an outstanding company, and I am very satisfied with their services. I particularly appreciate that they do not outsource their work, as they handle all installations and maintenance in-house. Thank you for the excellent job cleaning our solar panels.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“and the difference between solar warranty vs maintenance for your home solar…”
  • Years in business

“Family owned and operated for over 30 years! What solar solution is best for you?”

Its website also mentions family owned and licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Pinterest, YouTube, X, Facebook and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
