Its one and two star share is 3 points below the typical installer in Portland. Across Oregon, 55 of the 106 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 30 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Smart Solar was a great company to work with from start to finish. Solar is something we have wanted for over a decade so when it was possible, we were excited to get started. We got multiple quotes, including doing DIY installation. Smart Solar came in the clear winner in terms of cost and stress reduction. They were not pushy and easy to work with on my timeframe. They were gracious when a week before install we found a problem with our roof that needed repair which delayed the installation team. Our installation was difficult as our roof is very high and hard to access, but at all points th

We had a great experience with our Smart Solar install. Jordan walked us through the initial consultation and was extremely competent in answering all of our questions. We got quotes from 2 other solar companies, and Smart Solar came in the lowest. They also provided a breakdown of the costs associated with each piece of hardware and labor, which I found incredibly transparent and beyond what I got from other companies. Throughout the process, Jenn was super responsive and helped reassure us that everything was going according to plan (even when we hit some snags with PGE). Highly recommend!

We used Smart Solar Energy to install a solar panel system on our roof. From our first contact with them through the final setup and activation of the system - and ongoing - they have been incredible partners in this project. Their professionalism (knowledge, honesty, transparency, responsiveness to questions about any detail, and so on) has been absolutely top notch. We've lived in our house for 16 years and have experience with many contractors and service providers. It's rare these days to find a company like this. Your passion for your work shows, guys! Would highly recommend them to anyon

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We found nothing on a website for this company that states a warranty, a licence or how long it has traded.
  • Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. Portland is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
