Its one and two star share is 5 points above the typical installer in the New York area. Across New York, 85 of the 247 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 45 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Each mark is one company we hold in the New York area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Solanta is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

Stay away, less than mediocre on their best day. These guys have a lot to learn from other solar companies.

Salonta installed my solar system about six months ago and the entire process was a tremendous headache. There was no heads up for when they were coming to install. There were delays and they were supposed to install. They told me I would be getting most of the money on my electric bill, and all of their calculations were off, it was really a horrible experience today I have two panels that are not connected properly

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an outstanding experience with Solanta Solar from start to finish. Dean and the entire team made the whole process smooth, easy, and stress-free. They were professional, knowledgeable, and always available to answer my questions. The installation was completed on time, everything was explained clearly, and the crew was respectful, efficient, and left the work area spotless (I have ocd and was very concerned with changes being made to my home) I’m extremely happy with the quality of the service and the professionalism of everyone at Solanta Solar. I highly recommend them to anyone c

First of all, the Solar panels are working great and producing power just like they promised. I originally gave them a bad review and someone named Cam reached out to me and took care of my issues quickly; so my experience with their Customer Service was fine. There were some delays, but to be fair, everything was screwed up last year due to COVID, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. I also had some issues with the tax paperwork but again, to be fair, that could have been the NYC dept of Buildings or Finance that messed up. A young lady named Liz was extremely helpful and patient worki

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions free estimate and family owned, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Elsewhere

    • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
    • It posts on Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

    Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
