Its one and two star share is 2 points below the typical installer in Illinois. Across Illinois, 104 of the 183 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.
The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 32 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Tisha Kosco is the one to work with at StraightUp Solar! She is willing to take the time to explain the process of your solar project. Tisha is extremely knowledgeable concerning all things solar and dedicated to every single client she serves!

My system has operated flawlessly since installation. The monitoring app had some anomalies and errors recently, so I contacted the app company, SMA. Their tech support was all via chat, didn't provide any explanations, and just created more problems. I abandoned that effort. One short call to my local Straight Up Solar, and it was all fixed. Update: several months later, one of my inverters reported a communication problem. A straight up tech had emailed me about it before I even saw the automated message. He told me what steps to take to get it back online. I didn't even have to call and ask

Mostly satisfied but their estimate of how much kilowatts we were issued was too low. We should have gotten 1/4 more of what we received. Service has been very good.

Topics Google derives from the review text, with how often each appears. A frequent topic is not a good one: “price” turns up in praise and in complaints alike.
What the company says about itself
Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.
Financing
“likely savings, pricing, incentives, financing options, payback time, and a cash flow…”
Warranty
“of your array, a manufacturer’s warranty on panels, and our service team’s…”
Insured
“make a confident decision. We are a fully insured and licensed solar firm in Marion,…”
Licensed
“same ownership for over a decade. Our licensed professionals manage every step of…”
Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.
Elsewhere
- It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on Instagram, LinkedIn, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. Woodstock is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
