I recommend NOT using Sunrun - the batteries on my house and my neighbor’s house have been swollen since March and Sunrun has not done anything to fix them despite our repeated attempts to reach out. They don’t return phone calls or show up for scheduled maintenance appointments. My neighbor’s batteries don’t even work. After they get the system installed and get you paying for it, it seems you are no longer a priority and they don’t fulfill their end of the contract. I have a BBB case open with them and their resolution was to email me and tell me they’d email me back in a week (spoiler alert

If you're considering Sunrun in Hawaii, absolutely do not do it! I assumed the lease on a Sunrun system when I bought my house and it has been 4 years of broken systems, months to get it fixed. They make it easy to buy and install but then customer care is impossible and they do not honor their performance guarantees. 4 years my system has underperformed the guaranteed output and I have yet to received compensation for it.

Very DISAPPOINTED! Disclaimer: Get a snack, popcorn or something because this will be a long rant! Moved to Palisades in April 2025 and was interested in getting solar panels for our new home. I did some research and reviews which conflicted me into deciding to get solar from Sunrun. There was a sales person rep from my community who "was" nice at the time explaining how the contract work and what will we be paying monthly. Both my husband and I was pleased on how he connected with us and also gave us an incentitive for a electrical panel that need to be upgraded which requires permits from ou

Kawelo Pua’a is OUTSTANDING! He’s been working with us for months to get our system up to 100% so we can add a few new panels and a couple of battery backups installed. Sadly, on the day he was scheduled to sign the contract it turns out the company won’t work on aluminum shake roofs anymore so they declined the work. To say we’re disappointed would be an understatement. Sun Run maintenance is frustrating and uncommunicative, but Kawelo was the epitome of professionalism.

Excellent sales representative. Was able to convince us to purchase Sunrun’s battery system. She is very knowledgeable and is quick to follow up on questions we presented. She has that “sales personality”

Met with Jackson from Sunrun. He came to help out to quote a second system. For my scenario he helped me with my HECO bill without needing a new system at all. Would recommend Sunrun to anyone.

I worked with the local manager, Anna Escobosa, and she was very clear and helpful. Explaining exactly what our savings looked like. Very grateful to have met such a kind and honest person from Sunrun with our best interest in mind. Highly recommend working with Anna if you go with Sunrun for the best experience.

- It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
- It posts on Pinterest, X, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.
What we don't know
- The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
- We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
- We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
