Its one and two star share is 10 points above the typical installer in the Boston area. Across Massachusetts, 58 of the 198 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 68 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

0% rated 1–2★15%

Each mark is one company we hold in the Boston area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Viridis Energy Solutions is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

While I’m happy with the actual solar panels that I have and with the system as a whole, I will not work Viridis again when it comes time to expand the system with more panels. By far my biggest complaint was with communication. It was nearly impossible to get someone on the phone, to the point where I called several days in a row and left a message with every single person on the phone tree. Any responses I did eventually get were short and basic. I ended up being more of a project manager than I should have been. I needed to contact my city permitting to straighten out when inspection could

I hope that a year from now, when my system is still running, I will not feel so negatively about my experience with Viridis. In a nutshell, there is zero project management. There is no one person who has a handle on the customer's project, so I was left dealing with a myriad of issues with multiple people on multiple platforms, with very little accountability or follow through. Anyone familiar with the solar install process understands there is a lot going on. If I had not done a previous solar project, I honestly don't know what I would have done. From contract signing to up and running too

I found Viridis through Energy Sage and spent many months deciding on a provider. They had competitive rates and systems and thought it was good to go. They provided a timeline for installation which included July install, we are at the end of July and the permits aren’t even done yet. My issue is not that the permits are slow (not their fault) my issue is that no one has communicated with me beyond generic emails and texts unless I reach out. And when they take a while to respond to my questions (which is every time) they say ‘Sorry, I was on vacation.’ I am not getting an out of office messa

My experience with Viridis Energy has been nothing short of amazing. I received five different quotes through EnergySage, and Viridis was one of the only companies that really stood out to me. I had a virtual meeting with Jereme, and he took the time to answer all of my questions and explain everything clearly. He told me that Viridis believes in educating people first and selling second, and that was exactly how the meeting felt. There was no pressure at all. My experience with some of the other solar companies was completely different. A few of them could not answer basic questions, and some

Update: July 27. I've now worked with Viridis for a year. From the start, the onsite teams have always been extremely good and professional. There were earlier communication issues with the office, and some of that might have been due to the solar credit rush last year. But they have hung in there with me, they have worked hard to improve communication, and I can say for the first time I am very happy with the relationship. I would give them a strong recommendation, and, if you do sign up with them, just make sure the lines of communication are clear. Update: May 13. Hope springs eternal. They

Owner was super helpful and accommodating. Process was quick and my electric bill has gone down exponentially. I am so grateful and would highly recommend this company.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“your home’s carbon footprint. 25-Year Warranty We stand behind our systems with…”

Its website also mentions financing, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on X, LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
