Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in the Richmond area. Across Virginia, 56 of the 118 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 79 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Every company we hold in the Richmond area, on one axis

0% rated 1–2★15%

Each mark is one company we hold in the Richmond area whose Google breakdown has been read, placed by its share of one and two star reviews. Virtue Solar is the red one. The amber line is the middle of that set, which includes suppliers and maintenance businesses as well as installers.

What reviewers said

Virtue Solar has added storage batteries (2024) and additional panels (2026) with associated inverters to our solar system with excellent design, communication and quality. Permitting and coordination with the power company were handled as well. They adopted my system after the original installation company went bankrupt. Staff believe in what they are doing and it shows in the work! Using recognized industry leader Enphase adds long-term value.

I've had a very good experience with Virtue Solar. From the initial consultation, when all of my questions were answered -- to the actual installation day, which went quickly and smoothly. Everyone I've been in contact with has been helpful and well-informed. I looked into a few other solar companies before choosing Virtue and I know I made the best choice. A+++++ company!

Fantastic experience. Highly recommend. Very pleased with our installed system. Virtue handled all the difficult parts of the process and communicated frequently. Work crew was professional and friendly.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Warranty

“monthly savings from day one 30-Year Warranty Backed by Solar Insure, $0 deductible…”

  • Established

“NABCEP Certified installers Since 2015 installing in VA 30-year warranty…”

  • Licensed

“decades of savings. Virtue Solar is a licensed Virginia solar contractor…”

Its website also mentions free estimate, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on Instagram, X and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.

Something wrong here? Tell us and a person will read it.
