Its one and two star share is 1 point below the typical installer in Pittsburgh. Across Pennsylvania, 54 of the 146 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 42 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

Buyer beware, I went with Joseph and Boom Solar, the whole process was a total nightmare. Starting with a 4 day installation that took over a year and countless excuses, the system would never pass inspections and had to be redone. The original contact was redone to retro fit the financing with the promise of a 2400.00 rebate check two weeks after the system goes online, well Joe is still dancing around now 2 months after we finally went online no rebate check!!!! The year long installation costs us untold loss of revenue during prime harvest time on top of that I had to make payments to the l

If you're looking for solar, Joe is a rare kind of sales rep. He's informative and low-pressure on the front end, and attentive to the permitting and technical details once the process begins. I look forward to expanding my system in the future, very satisfied with it.

Joe was very helpful in getting us through the solar system financing. He gave an honest assessment of the savings we could expect. In fact, our electric bills are even lower than he quoted. It’s obvious he cares about his clients. He even checked in on us a year after the installation. We highly recommend him.

What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

Its website also mentions free estimate and years in business, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

    Elsewhere

    • It is also reviewed on the Better Business Bureau and Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
    • It posts on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

    Who Google shows alongside them

Google’s own “people also viewed” set, in Google’s order. It is Google’s comparison, not ours.

The ones without a link have no page here, either because Google does not categorise them as solar businesses or because we could not match the name to a listing with confidence.

Ordered by how much we can tell you about each, which is not an order of quality. We do not know which of these is better and would not say if we did.

    What we don't know

    • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
    • Google publishes no street address for this company, so we cannot say which town it is based in. Pittsburgh is the area its listing was returned for, not an address we hold.
    • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
    • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
