Its one and two star share is 4 points above the typical installer in California. Across California, 582 of the 1,529 installers whose breakdown Google has published carry a higher share than this one.

The percentages are Google’s own arithmetic over every review it holds, not a sample we assembled. Separately we hold 5 review texts for this company, quoted below. Google publishes review ages rather than dates, so every date here is approximate.

I recently had a home battery installed by Citadel Roofing & Solar. The entire process was as effortless as can be for a project like this. From the beginning Evan Bateman was the point man on whom I bounced all my questions and who provided guidance regarding the various purchase or lease options. Once I made my decision Evan got the ball rolling and I was soon contacted by Ashley Jensen who would oversee and schedule the installation. Ashley was also top notch and great to work with. She oversaw the permitting and once things were ready to go she got me on the schedule for the installation.

I recently worked with Citadel Roofing & Solar for a solar panel expansion and the installation of a Tesla Powerwall 3, and the entire experience was smooth from start to finish. Communication was excellent throughout the project. Any questions or concerns I had were answered quickly, and the team kept me informed every step of the way. Ashley and Liam were especially helpful, responsive, and professional, making the process easy to navigate. The installation went as planned, and everything was completed efficiently. What the company says about itself

Taken from its own website. We have not checked any of it, and a sentence on a website is not evidence.

  • Years in business

“After serving California for over 40 years, our commitment to exceptional…”

Its website also mentions free estimate, family owned and licence number, but not in a sentence we can quote cleanly.

Elsewhere

  • It is also reviewed on Yelp. Worth reading before you sign anything: those are a different crowd, and the complaints that reach the Better Business Bureau rarely reach Google.
  • It posts on X, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and Facebook. A page that stopped posting years ago tells you something a listing will not.

What we don't know

  • The date above is the newest review we hold, which is not necessarily the newest that exists — we hold a large share of Google's reviews, not all of them.
  • We do not verify licences, insurance or bonding. Nothing here has been checked against a state licensing board.
  • We cannot tell you what an installation costs, and we hold nothing about the equipment they fit.
